Pisy Castle “a remarkable military architecture”. Certainly, I am 800 years old but I think deserve the respect of all because, after all, I was built in the thirteenth century according to the will of the family of Montreal who has been very well illustrated in the Holy Land. My strategic and dominant position allows me to contemplate the wonderful landscapes to the foothills of the Morvan but also to ensure the protection of my home.

It is clear that I had to evolve over time and so I was transformed in the eighteenth century into an agricultural building; For sure, I avoided my destruction but my different masters did not interest me and I never became very “livable”. Listed in 1944 as a Historic Monument, I still enjoy telling you that, after years of farming, I managed to become, in the 1980s, Pierre Saint-Paul’s studio. , painter of his state. Be aware that my old stones have welcomed some celebrities because of the different films that have turned here.

After twenty years in the limelight, I became the home of Countess Liliane de Marenches, descendant of Harcourt who saw in me a place conducive to quality hospitality whose study was entrusted to Jean -Michel Wilmotte.

Alas, this project did not see the light of day because of a lack of permits necessary for its elaboration by the services of the Heritage. A few years ago, after the death of the Countess, the foundation “Count and Countess of Marenches” settled, with the mission to keep the archives of the House of Marenches but it is only in 2013 that I managed to be ranked in my totality.

Today, thanks to the tenacity and dedication of the association Eschap (Ensemble Save the Castle of Pisy), I hope to regain my former glory and not sink into oblivion and ruin. It seems, moreover, that an ambitious project will save me and give a new cultural dimension to the region.
